Happyland, CT -- Across the hill from the Res |
This very crunchy hippy girl with a big belly hiking down the road today. Her clothes look home-sewn. She has those knotty white girl dreads that lose color.
I imagine she is a no white foods*, no meat, vegan true believer. A woman, a young woman, who has redesigned herself completely, and such, does not suffer the punishment that comes from a bad diet. This hippy is in balance -- she looks pregnant the way fake pregnant looks on TV: lean little girl with a bulge.
I find myself laughing at her. Why? Because I'm imagining the nasty fat little man currently living in her belly giving a kick, and demanding prime rib.
All the religious discipline to healthy living, the crunchiness from on high, there's a demon inside that rips your identity, and renders it to gloop. That baby needs to get his blood up. It's a funny bit, this girl, hiking around like the living embodiment of Mother Earth, sitting in a corner booth at Sammy's Roast Beef, her tears rolling into the jus.
(* sugar, flour, dairy, you racists)
