NOTES: on BRIDGE, TUNNEL and the MLH

-- I just wanted to remark that I am writing Bridge, Tunnel fresh; each chapter is completed, rewritten once, and posted -- this is not an old manuscript I'm cutting and pasting, but a new attempt .. In effect I'm serializing the story, and when Chapter Three posts there won't be a word yet of chapter four.   And there are already first draft quirks such as me mentioning in 1, the 88's work out of a bar on Hudson, but when we get there at the end 2 it is a church and a fire station.  If nothing else with the regular reading each week with a new chapter you can know that chapter was written that week, wherever I was that week.
-- Also it is more gratifying than I expected to see these early chapters getting read.  I did try to bell and whistle them up, but chapter two equaled chapter one in traffic, and I thank you all, because it is quite nice to see that happen.
-- NOW: The MLH pilot script.  I'm posting it this week.  I just hope if you decide to give it a read you will come to it imagining that it is the premiere episode of a new show.. a mysterious new show; and so give it a shot that way -- We have been talking about a way to deliver this pilot in a more presentational manner; some kind of production/storyboard/thing -- but anyway, the nuts and bolts will be on display soon.  I really hope a few people like it, and read it completely -- In all earnestness I think it is the best thing I've ever written.  And as some people know: the first version of some of these characters, and some of this story, was written eight years ago in New York, and it has grown with me to the point it has completely transformed into this new mythology.

NOW THE CAST OF CHARACTERS of the MLH pilot, which we can now call by it's real title: IT'S ALL TRUE, (MLH is Gwen Lowe's title):
CHARLES DEXTER FORD: The Grinder.  A Thirty-something film producer who had been on his way up, but as you will read, is about to hit the skids.  Is this our hero?
KATHERINE SAXON: The Face.  A famous actress in her late twenties.  That she is smart and wily is missed by how beautiful she is.  Currently hiding out in Florida between projects.
GWEN LOWE: The first time author of Must Lose Him, a roman a'cle on her time spent in Maine with the legendary writer Ronald Richard Beth.
DONALD BLACK: An actor who was nominated a couple times back in the nineties, but has recently fallen back on the hard times of drugs and alcohol.
TATE MILLER: A good-looking "actor" hanging out with Katherine if FLA, and hoping to get his abs on the tabloid shows.
RR BETH: The man.  He of the TWO National Book Awards; he of the legendary Literature course at NYU; The Pilgrim of Belfast; and now... totally and completely insane.
WILL DEVON: A 17-year old Rockland High School student, who happens to be a genius, and holds the SECRET to everything -- A nerd hasn't deciphered this big a seceret since Tim Drake became the third Robin.
LOUISE TURNER: A tough smart film exec -- consider her Sherry Lansing crossed with Harvey Weinstein. She is not happy with Charles Ford.
THE PROFESSOR: A character in Gwen Lowe's novel considered by many to be based on RR Beth.
THE LOBSTERMAN: A character from Gwen Lowe's novel, a lobsterman involved in dark deeds; many have wondered if this character is based on a real person; the Rocklanders know the truth.
